When a constructor starts talking about a "3 year program" this can be usually discarded as "PR". Read between the lines and it means they f***** up, and maybe have 2 more years to fix the problem.

As the 3rd year of Bentley's LMGTP program coincided with the withdrawal of Mother Company Audi's works R8 support, many dubbed the 03 Bentley an "Audi with a roof", but in fact they couldn't have been more wrong.

For Bentley's 3rd generation LMGTP Chief designer Peter Elleray decided to start with a clean sheet of paper. Work on the 03 car started as early as April 02, Weight distribution, aero concept (and aero map), suspension geometry's, were significantly changed and all at the same time, which is usually a recipe for disaster.
Fortunately it all came together, Bentley dominated the 2003 LM 24hrs in a way previously reserved for the likes of Audi and Porsche. Immediately after the race it became clean that Bentley had been serious about its 3 year program. The green coupes had raced for the last time and would not return.
And thus ended an other chapter in Sportscar history.

Contents

LMM brings out 2 versions of the LM 03 car. Wining car No#7 gets the Gold line treatment, meaning a Multi piece resin body with opening doors and full detailed engine.

As usual the Goldline Multi media kit has many photo etched and white metal parts and full decal sheet.

Second placed nr#8 has all the detail but without the opening doors.

Slot conversion remarks

Actually this kit is far to beautiful to wreck it on a slottrack, but as some of you won't be able to resist this racing green monster ...be warned.

The modifications needed for Sidewinder spur gear and Ikarachi type Motors are the least of your worries.

Al those movable parts will have to be sacrificed to build a slot resistant body.

At least in the sprints there's the possibility to run the car without having to modify the rear.

Lets hope that LMM will release a slotkit version like they did with the Audi R8 and the Panoz!!! If not the closed no 8 will be your best bet.
