On the front page of the 2014 Scaleauto catalog as released on the Neuremburg Toy Fair
Porsche's latest weapon in International GT racing....the 991

I sure hope that Scaleauto has taken the chance to update their ageing 911 model with the 991, correcting some of the scale flaws that the old RSR had (which was basically the 911 cup car with wider wheel arches)

A look at the spec sheet reveals that it is going to be wider, but the length is listed the same as the old 911.
While in reality it should be longer! (okay it would be a scale 2,7 mm)
More important is that the wheelbase of the 991 is 100mm longer than the 911 (in scale that would be ≠ 4mm) with 70mm (scale 2,7mm) accounted for by moving the rear axle backwards.

So I'm hoping that they will do their homework and create a new master for the body, instead of just modifying the front and rear of the car.
But then again, its sure better than "just a new paintjob"

No photo's seen of a white preproduction body yet...so to be continued

with kind regards
Tamar
