The latest addition to the Yearbook archive is about to hit the shelves, with the release this week of the FIA GT Championship’s offering for 2005. It’s a comprehensive, if slightly busy looking, run through the dramas of a hard fought Championship with the nip and tuck battles between the Maseratis, Ferraris, Corvette and Aston Martin quite rightly taking centre stage.

There is in-depth coverage of the Championship’s blue riband event, the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa, with both the race itself and the build up getting plenty of attention.

The race and championship results are there of course too, together with a preview of the new for 2006, FIA GT3 Championship.

There is dual language text (in French and English) which is both a blessing (bringing the book to a wider audience) and a curse (there is naturally therefore half as much space available to tell the story!). The translation from French results in a slightly stilted English text, rather than flowing prose.

The photography is well up to the required standard, with particular credit due to the inside front and rear cover spreads which feature some of the faces of the championship.

The FIA GT 2005 Yearbook will be available in a good motoring bookshop near you (or online) priced at 42 Euros.
