What is a commercially available chassis these days?

Perhaps this should be clarified, as in many rules of many championships, only commercially available chassis are allowed.
But as an example, I recently bought one of Ralf Seif's chassis, and if I'm right I remember some rule stating that there should be at least 50 available. I know Seif's chassis' sell very well, so no doubt he'll cross the 50 chassis mark soon, if he hasn't done it allready.
Does this mean one can show up with a chassis like this in say an IMCA race, or races run using the mass production rule???

I'm making the first steps as to developing my own chassis, and of course if I can get it that far, I too want to sell these on a big scale. But I'm wondering what the 'organisers' or rule makers of various races think about these kinds of chassis.
