No car illustrates the development in late 90's Sportscar racing, better than the Mclaren F1 GTR.
When it hit the tracks in 95 the GTR rendered all previous GT designs obsolete. Winning Le Mans on its debut it was outclassed at La Sarthe just one year later.

The F1 GTR was born in 1995 and five teams entered their GTR's in the 95 BPR Series . With its Carbon chassis, 640 bhp V12 BMW they trounced all opposition, apart from the rare exception. (Ferrari F40 GTE at Anderstop Sweden, Mclaren teams boycotting the Parisian Monthlery circuit).
Winning a rain swept Le Mans in its debut year (Lanzante Motorsport, Dalmas / Lehto / Sekiya) was just the icing on the cake.

Benefiting from some minor updates 1996 looked to be an another walk in the park, that is until Porsche revealed its new GT1 racer. The Semi Prototypes had come to play.

Resin kit curbside.

Beautifully detailed and complete kit...but expensive. One of the best McLaren kits around.

Well made instruction sheet, text in japanese but drawings give more than enough info.

Contents
One piece Resin body, Resin floorpan with cockpit detail. White metal, resin and photo etched detail parts.

Slot conversion remarks
Thin roof, but rest of Body needs to be seriously lightned. Achilles heel of all Mclaren bodies is the area around the front window pillars. This needs to be reinforced with GFK.
