Let there be light

Friends
for those of you who haven't found the article on slot car lights yet. Here's the link to it: http://www.slotracinglemans.com/newforum/news.php?action=view&catid=3&aid=107
It's a work in progress and needs more information.
If you have any particular interest you'd like to know more about, please let me know via this thread and I'll work it into the article.
Also, bring any experiences you have had building your lights into the public using this thread.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you.

Hello gabe,

instead of using the MC7806 you can also use a SMD 7805. With this smart piece of transformer you are able to put the complete circuit on the small cap. Then it´s only a question of 3 oer 4 gramms...
Merry X.mas

Udo

PS: If you are interested in seperate break lights, let me know. I build that some years ago and I´m able to find the plan again, :comp:

Break lights

Udo,
yes please post here.
Until now I haven't been able to build a break light circuit to my fullest satisfaction. I've got one with two transistors but it only works after the car comes to a full stop. The motor keeps feeding the circuit even when breaking.

There are other breaking lights schema but I need to ask permission to post them here first...

cheers,

Hi Gabe,

my drawings are not so professional as yours, but they work, try it ;)

Use 2 Led´s for breaklights and try with some other values for the brightness. It also works with 220µF and similiar resisteds.

I also use it for exhaust lights...

My newest plan switches automaticlly the lights on when your drive into a tunnel and turns it off when it comes out :m16:
