This site aim to show pictures off ALL the 333sp's that have raced in the past.

In the bleak years after the demise of GTP and group C Ferrari's 333sp was "The car" that rejuvenated American sportscar racing.
Designed in 1993 by leading sportscar Guru Tony Southgate it set the mold for a whole generation of open top prototypes.
After running for almost a decade, the Ferrari is still competitive in the new millennium.

Race History
Throughout the nineties 333sp's formed the backbone of the ISRS and IMSA.
Winning races on both sides of the Atlantic, most memorable victories were those in the 1995 and 98 Daytona 24 hrs.

Designed for IMSA rules the original 333sp had a complete flat underbody and no rear diffuser.
This changed from 1998 an onwards as can be seen on the 2001 BMS Ferrari.
An interesting conversion would be the Longtail configuration of the 1999 JMB 333sp

In the FIA 2001 SRCW the BMS Ferrari raced against 22nd century designs and was so succesfull tha the FIA imposed smaller restrictors to cap its power.
But it was reliability rather than pure speed that brought the team the title.
Cockpit detail
One of the advantages of an open topped slot(model) car is that all the cockpit detail will remain visible. Here's a nice ref picture so start detailing.

Scale Horses
For those wanting to ride the Prancing horse in the LMS there is no RTR solution,no Injection moulded kits, the only available 1/24 333sp's are Resin or GFK, so you will have to do some more work yourself.
With Resin bodies this will mean some heavy use of the Dremel as the body will have to loose some 30gr of weight.
GFK bodies are lighter but are a bit less detailed and so require more work in that department.
If you want to use a sidewinder most of the work will be at the back as the rear bodywork
has to be modified to make room for the spurgear.

The 333sp pictured above was build by Matthias Parke using a Scale Productions GFK kit.
Featuring the 98 LM version, the Bodylines (off the car you idiots) are quite good with
some touch up work required at the edges.
Wheels are Sakatsu turned aluminium 6 spoke OZ.

The same Scale productions kit, painted in the JMB Giesse colours as raced by LMS team B-24.
The 333 sp body weights 69 gr including lights and uses a Plafit Pro Excel chassis.
Wheels have aluminium SSH hubs and resin inserts.
The decals were specially prepared in house for this race.
