Busy times for (Inter)national 1/24 Plafit racers.
With the season coming to a close, Modelcar racers all over the world gear up for the final races of their Championships. In Europe the last trimester of the 1/24 Modelcar season is packed with no less than 4 major Plafit events.
Traditionally Europe hosted a wide variety of Modelcar championships, each had its own set of regulations which made it difficult to enter each other's races. This year several European Race Organizers have worked together to create a common set of Technical rules to be used in European Plafit Championships. As a result teams can now take part in these EPC races, without completely having to change their cars.
With the LMS finals in Holland and events in Germany, Spain and Belgium......it will be busy times for the international racers.

27/28 Oct Germany: Deutsche Plafit Meisterschaft.
Kick off in this string of European events is the Open German Plafit Championship at Mörfelden . Germany has one off the biggest 1/24 Modelcar communities in Europe ,at the close of entries, more than 20 teams have send in their entry form to the Rhein Main Center near Frankfurt.
The DPM will be the first race to use the new EPC rulebook and the first true test of Plafit's new Pro racing chassis. With handout Pro comp 2 tires and Bison Motors the cars will be closely matched, but at 20 volt these specs make for one hell off a potent Modelcar.
The Teams that enter the DPM can have min. 3 and max 4 pilots. After a qualification on Saturday 12 teams will be directly admitted to Sunday's finals. The rest will race in the semi final on Saturday evening. The best 2 teams for the semi's will be added to the Sunday endurance, so 14 teams will race for the German title.
With the DPM held on the ultra fast concept track, the race should provide some spectacular action.

2/4 Nov, Spain:The European Plafit Championship & The Spanish Nationals
Just one week after the DPM, the European Plafit Championship will contested in Igualada (Barcelona). Teams from Germany, Holland and England are expected to make the long trip south to take on the best modelcar racers from Spain and Portugal. The race format and car set-up will be equal to those described for the DPM with one exception; Teams can only have 3 pilots.

This year's EPC is held during the Spanish Nationals, a major slotrace event organized by the Associación Catalana de Slot. Races will be held for about any scale class thinkable, besides the EPC
other Plafit classes raced at Igualada are the Ferrari 360 Modena challenge, Nastruck, GT, Classic and Formula 1.
Spain also has an very strong 1/32nd tradition, with over 1000 racers taking part in Championships ranging from Karts to Sportscars and the spectacular 1/32 rally championships. In total no less than 8 different tracks can be found at this event.
All in all it is a great opportunity for the North Europeans to mix "business" with "pleasure", with temperatures reaching into the mid twenties on the Costa del Slotl.
