The original Tamtech bodys was made of 2 mm thick clear Polycarbonate, also known as Lexan the trademark og GE the producer. But by all accounts these
bodys was injection molded, not vacuum molded, thereby they where very much hard bodys like any kit!!
The resent Tamtech bodys I have bought on eBay has been made in another plastic ABS with Polystyren windows molded into the body. These are also made
by injection molding.
Anyway, the Tamtech bodys ought to be applicable for your gr. C rules as they are all very heavy and made in the same way as a plastic kit. The resent
reissue of the Tamiya Porsche 962C is taken directly from the original Tamtech molds!!
Why I know all this shit??? Well, I spent three years of my life selling plastics and I have talked to the danish Tamiya importer about the reissue!

hello Tamar,
I will try to find one decently priced. As for now, I remember that someone in the Dutch treads was writting he would build the LC2 from a Tamtech
body. I remember asking him about his livery as I intended to build a LC2 too. Maybe you know who that was and already ask him for the details?

Its been a while since I've actually seen a original Tamtech body in "the Flesh".
All I remember is that they were completely transparent, material could be styrene, but as they were intended for RC use it could also have been very
thick lexan.
I would say try to get hold of one so we can measure and weight the body, for as now I dont see any major problems.

I have heard that these TamTech bodies are made from styrene. Is this allowed in the LMS group C rules?

The two Lancia's are Tamiya - Tamtech

The Lancia's were a little bit less pretty this time because the decoration suffered at the first round at Dison.
I have a good picture of the Lancia Martini, more pretty at Dison, before the race...
Some of our guys are not already fully able to produce "sturdy" decorations for scale races
NB: and some of our guys seems to have not already fully understood the importance of a low body on the châssis...

Some important features of our competition:
-The engines (Bison) and the tyres (already fitted on rims) are provided by the organisation
- The field of cars is large because we limit the number of each model
This year, only one or two specimens of each model are allowed except the Porsche 956/962 who is allowed in 4 specimens (many Porsche at the start of
GR C races during the 80's...)
-We impose different decorations on each car
-A replica of a real decoration gives a bonus of some points. At Dunkerque, the winners lose this bonus with a ... yellow Ford Probe
-Even if it is not mandatory, many teams are "pro-am": one or two (very) good drivers with one or two less faster
-The winner team of a race must take 30 grs of weight at the next race, the second: 10 grs
the fourth loses 10 grs, the fifth loses 30 grs. It is a first try with this weight scale. It is possible we have to adjust next year...
