Originally posted by sloefspeed So if I may allow myself to ask some concrete questions : -Will there be a F430 GT2 body in short? and when exactly? -Will the decals for these cars be available within a reasonable time-frame? When exactly? I don't expect anyone to materialize the promises made by someone else, but you must admit that NOW is the time to act? -And where should we order these items?
In General: There are a few things that I would like to clarify The Cars, Models, GRP bodies and Decals mentioned in the posts by LMC forum members (including myself) are the produce of our hobby, we are hobbiest and not professionals! Building your own FIA GT modelcar is a challenge, one that you all took on freely. Nobody "imposed" you to fill in the entry form and hit the submit button! I fully understand the anxiety that some of you may have on how to finish your cars in time for the first EEC race. Which is why I and some other forum members are willing to help people to build these cars, but just like you, we also have to do this after work and housekeeping hours. And yes these hours are hard to find which is why when we build our own cars....it usualy results in some 24/7 days just before the race to get things finished. This is not a luxery, it is a sacrifice we make to enjoy our hobby! Here's an update on how things are right now. F430 GT2 GRP kit As Al posted on 24/11 the master for the GRP kit is in the mail. Normally shipment from South Africa takes 10 - 15 days. Nick is eagerly watching the postman everyday, and when the package arrives will start immidiately on making a mold etc etc. But until the postman rings twice... we can do nothing. If you can't wait any longer and feel that you must start now...use a Revell or Fujimi kit and make the small madifications yourself. Remarks that a "modified" plastic kit body doesn't stand a chance against the "home brewed" bodies" are bollocks. Specially in the case of the F430! Porsche 997 GT2 GRP kit same story goes for the 997, I'm very happy to have gotten permission for Scaleproduction to copy his resin 997 kit, the master is now at the resinfactory and as soon as he gets his bodies back one will be send to me... But until the postman rings twice... we can do nothing. If you can't wait any longer and feel that you must start now... For the 997 there's the awfull Ditech grp body, but its better than nothing if you cant wait. You want to make your own mold?...go ahead and buy the 997 by Profil 24. Or the Wiesel/werks 911GT3r grp body. FIA GT Decals Guys please don't wait for these rumoured "IMCA FIA GT decals" they don't exist!!!!!! IMCA has not ordered some specialist to produce "all" the decals. There are many specialist that will make any type of decal for you ....at a price! And they are not so hard to find and for a special "one off " their prices are not that bad. So far several teams have produced their own decals or had them made for them (Slotfabrik, Franspeed, Whitemouse, Z-machine) Basic costs for a prototype decalsheet are ± 50-80 euro for the logo drawings and ± 20 euro for a printed set of decals. If you guys want their adresses, mail me and I will send them to you! Again I am willing to help out where possible, but my request for help from you guys in searching for the missing logo's or contacting the team of your car...... has turned up.....nothing! Good news is that Philippe Laudet is working on having some of the needed decals produced, I had contact with his manufacturer 2day and hopefully we can combine our efforts. Here's an update on how things are right now. F430 GT2 Decals #50 & #51 AF Corse: Al Paterson has made a homebrew set of decals for the #51 AF Corse, these can be printed by inktjet or laser on white decal paper. He has asked Graig Strydrom to rework these pixel files into vector drawings but it takes time. #52 & #53 Edil Cris: Rolf and Raymond have both tried to contact the team with no results, I distinctly remember Raymond posting that he could draw the main logo's form the website pictures, I posted the logo's that where already in my database, but so far there has been no news or progress. #63 Scuderia Ecosse: This car has recently been taken by the Whitemouse juniorteam. I got some of the logo's but still have to find good examples of the small stuff. Any help appriciated! Porsche 997 GT2 Decals Here things are progressing nicely, mainly because these are basicly white cars. Ive got all the big logo's for the #74 Ebimotors, #76 BMS and #99 Tech9 cars..only no body to testfit them and get them down to their proper sizes. So that's the brake down on how things are right know and what I am working on Oh did I forgot to mention the #7 Lambo and the #18 Corvette...and the #15 &16 Maserati's, well at least we have bodies for them so those guys can start painting. oh no that's not true, I still need to finish the C5 kit or do I? Anyhow....I will give priority to the GT2 decals.... that's all I can say for now. I'm sure that after reading this post you'll have a better understanding...why things just take time :D
