April 7th, somewhere between Dover and Calais. Dutch Touch and Racing for Holland were on the Ferry back home from the 3rd Edition of the Oxigen Le Mans 24hrs,a race for digital 1/32nd slotcars held in the smaal town of Henley in Arden, UK. Spirits were high, it had been a truly great event, the atmosphere, the racing on that awesome track with its long Mulsanne straight. Changing lanes to overtake and then switching back to the race line. The wide variety of cars, classes and teams.
The only draw back that the guys could find was...that they would have to wait a full year before they could do it all again...or.....?

The SRC Eindhoven, home base of the Dutch Touch team, has a 6 lane "Oxigenated" Ninco track modelled after Suzuka.
So we thought: "If the Brits can organize a Le Mans 24hrs on a 1/32nd Circuit de la Sarthe in Henley in Arden...why don't we organize a 1/32nd Suzuka 1000 in the Low Lands?"

The Low Lands Suzuka 1000
October 11-12th, 1/32nd Oxigen racing in the Netherlands
As a result of that Ferry trip, we now proudly present to you the Low Lands Suzuka 1000.
This event for 1/32nd slotcars will be held on the weekend of Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th October at the SRC Eindhoven, Hoofdstraat 18c, Best, the Netherlands.
The main feature of the Low Lands Suzuka 1000 will be the team endurance on Sunday Oct 12th.
1/32nd LMP's and GT's will race over 1000 laps on the 38m, 6 lane, Ninco Oxigen digital track of the SRC Eindhoven.
Prior to the race there will be three (3) free practice sessions of two (2) hours and a one (1) hour Timed Qualification Session.
The Low Lands Suzuka 1000 is a perfect opportunity for all slotracers on the Northern European continent who want to try Oxigen racing in an Endurance format. For new teams the organisation can provide technical assistance on how to chip cars during Saturday's free practice sessions. Several Slot.it controllers are available for rent, if teams require them...and there's more...

DTM Oxigen Support races
In association with DiSCA and Slot.it the Low Lands Suzuka 1000 will feature three 1 hour DTM support races. Two will be held on Saturday and one on Sunday. For these races the Carrera DTM slotcars will be prepared and chipped by Slot.it using slot.it running gear and their latest 3D printed chassis. Controllers will be provided by DiSCA

Suzuka 1000 Regulations, short summary:
The Suzuka 1000 will be run under the DiSCA LM Endurance Sports Cars rules. For those not familiar with DiSCA, they are a further development of the Oxigen LM 24hrs rules. Without going into too much detail it means that you can mount an O2 chip to a well set-up but near box stock slotcar, or go all the way and scratch build the lot. As three editions of the Oxigen LM 24hrs have proven...both options can be highly competitive.

Teams must have with a min. of two (2) drivers and a max. of four (4) drivers. Cars can be entered in one of three categories; LMP1, LMP2, GT, as raced at Le Mans, ALMS & ELMS between 2004 and 2014 inclusive. Cars must have a "plastic" chassis & bodies. Cars must be fitted with a Slot.it Oxigen Chip (type O201a, O201b and O201b1) and a permanent light kit (brand and make free). Control motor (Slot.it Flat 6 or V12/3 21500rpm) supplied. Control tyres supplied. (Slot.it F22 & N18)
The list of eligible cars will be included in the final regulations. For now you can use the Racingsportscar.com as a reference.

Awards:
Awards will be given to: Overall race winner, Top three finishing positions in each category,Fastest single lap time set in official qualifying, best presented car (concours delegance) and last but not least Spirit of Suzuka trophy
